TOM MOTLAND | Merit Construction NW

Tom has over twenty years experience in the construction industry. While he currently leads business development, much of his work history has been in project management. Tom has facilitated many non-profit projects, including churches, schools and community centers, the majority of which have been design build projects. Tom believes firmly in the trust developed when the architect, contractor and owner form a team in the beginning phases of a project, working through the realities of a building project and that this trust can become his client’s most valued benefit.

DAVE SCHLOSSER | Ziegler

Dave Schlosser, a Managing Director for the Church and School Finance department, has been with Ziegler for most of the last 23 years. He has originated loans for churches of all denominations nationwide.

Dave is responsible for the underwriting and structuring of many of the company’s taxable church bond issues. Since joining Ziegler in 1987, he has underwritten more than 165 individual church issues for Ziegler totaling in excess of $650 million.

Dave holds a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisconsin. He is a registered representative of Ziegler and a member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and has spoken at various national conventions on the merits of bond financings for churches and schools.

GREG HEARNS | CCI Solutions, Inc.

Greg is a graduate of the Seattle Art Institute with specialized training in recording and mixing. Greg has spent much of his career working as either an operator or designer. As a Senior Systems Consultant, he has trained technical staff in the fine art of operating sound in support of various styles of performance in many venues on the West Coast. He is also experienced in video production and the use of live-broadcast TV. Greg a Senior Systems Consultant for CCI Solutions in Olympia, WA and is the Technical Director for Church For All Nations. He will lead an open discussion on the power of room acoustics during the Breakout Session.

BOB ENTNER | TLC MINISTRIES

Dr. Bob Entner joined TLC Ministries in 2001after a very productive ministry in the pastorate, education, missions, and business. He has demonstrated high levels of both competence and compassion in church fund raising.

Bob served twenty years as Senior Pastor. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Heritage University in Indianapolis, Indiana, and has trained pastors on several mission fields around the world. Along with a pastor’s heart, Bob brings a wealth of experience, skill, wisdom, and commitment to every church he serves. Churches for which he has led campaigns have raised an average of 3.6 times their church’s annual income.

Gareth Roe

GARETH ROE | BCRA

As a Licensed Professional Land Use Planner, Gareth is experienced at all phases of residential and commercial entitlement. He is well versed in the preparation of site development feasibility reports and highest and best use analysis, land use regulatory code research, consultant coordination, jurisdictional coordination, permit entitlement coordination, entitlement expediting and permit tracking.

Gareth is a licensed member of the American Planning Association and the American Institute of Certified Planners.  He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, the Cascade Chapter of Congress for the New Urbanism, and the International Council of Shopping Centers. In addition, he has served as past Co-Chair for the City of Seattle Parks and Recreation Skateboard Park Advisory Committee.

JIM WOLCH | BCRA

With over 18 years of architectural experience, Jim has a varied and extensive church project history. He is expertly skilled in multi-level project management, and is also accustomed to working with tight budgets, condensed construction documents and schedules, renovations, and phasing. A skilled designer, project manager, specifications writer, and construction administrator, Jim is known for his thoughtful yet effective manner that highly suits the dynamic organization of many church project teams.

SCOTT KRONLUND | THE ARMSTRONG GROUP

Scott has facilitated a number of strategic planning projects for churches, Christian schools, and other non-profit organizations. As congregational president and founding Executive Director of a large church in Tacoma, WA, Scott was instrumental in refining board governance, implementing a new management structure, and fully developing the Executive Director’s role. Scott continues to “lead the charge” in exploring new models of congregational discipleship while facilitating a total redesign of the role of the Board of Elders and Deacons toward this end. In addition, he has a special passion for Christian schools. As a board member of a Christian school, he is spearheading an extensive board reorganization effort while also developing the communication strategies for a $7.5 million capital campaign to build the third school of an evolving school system. Scott has also served as facilitator for a number of other non-profit organizational planning events.
